Budget and Finance

Counties are required by state law to adopt an annual budget with levies taxes to pay for county services. While budgets are forward-looking documents, financial statements look backwards to determine how the County actually performed against its financial expectations. These statements are then reviewed by an outside audit firm to make sure the County is fairly presenting its financial picture.
