Virginia Soukup RON, LD, WIC Coordinator for Saline and Ellsworth County. Virginia has been a dietitian for fifteen years and has spent over ten of those years working for the Kansas WIC program. Since becoming a dietitian her favorite role has been working in community nutrition. “Working for WIC has been a rewarding experience because I can help moms get off to a good start with their little ones,” she said.

Sherri is the Maternal Child Health/Becoming a Mom prenatal education Coordinator and has been with the Saline County Health Department since 2015. In addition to her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, she is a Certified Lactation Consultant and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Consultant. She and her staff are currently serving the perinatal populations in Saline and McPherson County.
“Having the opportunity to provide home visiting services and education to our prenatal and postpartum parents in our communities has been very rewarding," she explained. "We have built this program with staff who have a passion to make a positive impact with the families we serve. Through support and collaborative efforts within our medical community, we are making a difference as we strive for healthy mothers, healthy pregnancies, and healthy babies.”

Christi is the Home Health Coordinator for the Saline County Health Agency since 2016 and has been at the Health Department since 2014. She has a bachelor of science in nursing from Washburn University. “I currently work with an amazing group of nurses, home health aides, and office and billing staff who have a similar passion for helping others in our community. I really enjoy working for Saline County because we can assist our patients to remain in their home, where they feel the most comfortable.”

Leigh Ann has been a childcare surveyor for over 30 years. Her service boards include: (1) Kansas Best Team, a childcare systems improvement team for Kansas. (2) Kansas Childcare Training Opportunities, where she has served as board president. (3) Salina Association for the Education of Young Children, twice as board secretary. (4) Partners in Early Childhood Education. (S) Saline County Childcare Workforce Development. She’s a 30-year member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), KSAYC, SAEYC, and National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA). She holds bachelor's degrees in psychology, elementary education, and business administration from Kansas Wesleyan University and has over 400 clock hours of training in early childhood education.
