Saline County Tag Office Appointment System “No Wait Inside Scheduler

In an effort to reduce long lines at the tag office located at the City/County Building and continue all efforts to keep citizens safe from exposure to COVID-19, a new system called “No Wait Inside Scheduler” has been implemented and appointments will begin being taken on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021.  The system allows you to log on to our website from either your home computer or smartphone, and select an available date and time to set up an appointment to conduct your necessary business with the Tag Office.

Book Tag Appointment Link

The system will remind you of your appointment one day before via phone call and text message (if applicable) and provide you with instructions once you arrive at the building for your appointment.

If you choose not to use the system, the tag office will continue to take walk-ins for renewals and handicapped placards, with those that have appointments to have priority.

Appointments must be made for any title work.

If you have any questions about the system, please contact us at (785) 309-5865.

What is considered Title Work?

Title work is defined as a “new to you” purchase, adding or changing a name, changing ownership, adding a transfer on death, converting to antique, processing as salvage or rebuilt salvage

(commonly as a result of a wreck or insurance claim), and transferring a vehicle from another state.

Don't forget to bring proof of insurance, and a VIN inspection if your vehicle is currently titled from another state

Options for Renewing Your Tags

Online renewals – Don’t like waiting in line to renew your tags?  You can renew online and save yourself from standing in line.  Please visit the State of Kansas Online Renewal Webpage to start the process.

To renew online you need your renewal form mailed to you by the State of Kansas.  The Kansas renewal form has a pin number that is required for online renewals.

Online Renewal

There are two methods of payment for online renewals:

  • Debit or Credit Card – there is a fee for using either a debit or credit card.  The fees are listed on the State of KS website and is a percentage based on the total amount of the transaction.
  • Electronic Check – the fee for an electronic check is $3.00.  You simply enter your bank’s routing number and your account and the transaction amount plus the $3.00 fee will be deducted from your bank account in the same manner as writing a paper check.

Please allow 10 days for the renewal to be processed and mailed back to you.

Mail in Renewals – Again, don’t like standing in line to renew your tags?  Mail it in, this is the easiest way to renew your tags.  Sign the renewal form and mail it with your payment and proof of insurance.  The renewal will be processed and new decals for your tags will be mailed back to you.

Visit our office – We accept check, cash, debit or credit cards.  There is a 2.5% fee for using a debit or credit card.
